Rendsburg (dpa) - The film composer Martin Böttcher is dead. He died on Saturday night at the age of 91, his daughter Betsy Schlüter told dpa. Böttcher accompanied ten Karl May films for the screen - he became one of Germany's most successful film composers. In 1962, his »Old Shatterhand« melody topped the German charts for 17 weeks. His second film »Die Halbstarken« with Horst Buchholz was already a great success. Böttcher also set Heinz Rühmann's »Pater Brown« films, Edgar Wallace films and, most recently, »Pfarrer Braun« to music.
