Robert Hundar has died
The actor Claudio Undari, aka Robert Hundar, died in Rome. Born in Castelvetrano (Trapani), Catania by adoption, he had lived in Rome for years. Hundar was 73 years old and had been the king of spaghetti-westerns in the 60s and 70s with titles such as "The Three Relentless", "The Inexorable Four", "The Texas Seven", "Ride and Kill", "A Man and a Colt". Last September, Hundar was honored in Venice as part of the retrospective 'Secret History of Italian Cinema: the Italian Western', realized with the contribution of Telecom's Progetto Italia and to whose selection Quentin Tarantino had also contributed. Undari's funeral will take place today in Rome, in the church of the Artists in Piazza del Popolo.

Farewell to Robert Hundar the Sicilian of westerns
His name appears in the posters of "A man and a colt", from 1967, "the slaughter and the cop", from '77, and in a title that alone tells the spaghetti-western season, "Hey man, c ' it's Saturday you're closed". The actor of Sicilian origin Claudio Undari, aka Robert Hundar, who died on Monday in Rome at the age of 73, had a powerful physique and an icy gaze. He had had considerable success in the 1960s and 1970s as an actor in spaghetti westerns, starring in many films including "The Unforgiven Three", "$1,000 for Lassiter", "His Name Screamed For Vengeance", "Ride and Kill". Born in Castelvetrano, in the province of Trapani, but Catania by adoption, he had moved to Madrid to keep up with his demanding career. A true star, then forced to return to Italy when the splendor of spaghetti westerns began to wane. In Italy, Undari was a director of documentaries and above all a theater and cinema actor, appreciated and esteemed in the artistic environment. His last appearance was in the theater in 2005, where he played the part of a father who, seeing his homosexual son killed, in a long monologue, forgives his son's executioner and pardons him from the death penalty. Last September, he was honored in Venice as part of the retrospective "Secret history of Italian cinema: the Italian western", created with the contribution of Progetto Italia of Telecom and to whose selection Quentin Tarantino had also contributed. Claudio Undari leaves his wife Tiziana, from whom he had his children Jacopo and Arianna, and two other children from a previous marriage.
