Une photo de ce western digne d'éloges. Réalisé avec soin, il se hisse au niveau des meilleures séries B. toutes nationalités confondues.
Craig Hill est un acteur qui a du métier et il n'a pas besoin d'en faire trop pour montrer son talent.
Je suis ravi de voir qu'un forum s'intéresse à lui.

On pourrait presque croire que c'est son p'tit frère.

Je viens seulement de regarder ce fil, alors que ce sympathique acteur n'est plus depuis un certain temps.

Je viens de découvrir "Histoire de détective/ Detective Story". Huis clos dans lequel Greg Hill tient un second rôle. Mais rôle-clé tout de même par sa prestance et sa présence pour l'une de ses premières affiches.
En tout cas, excellent film noir de William Wyler qui a pour vedette un Kirk Douglas impérial. Il joue un personnage, je vais dire ... complexe.
Je n'en dirai pas plus pour qui ne connait pas ce film. Simplement, en le voyant à l'écran, je me suis dis qu'il n'y avait que lui ou Klaus Kinski pour jouer pareil rôle !

Craig Hill, Teresa Gimpera's husband, dies

The American actor Craig Hill, a regular at the spaghetti-western shot in Almería, died yesterday in Barcelona, where he had resided for decades. He was 88 years old. Tall, attractive, with striking blue eyes, in recent years Hill became more recognized for being the discreet and highly educated husband of actress Teresa Gimpera. The photographer Colita, a great friend of the actress and model, liked to say that when Craig Hill and his wife entered a public place, Bocaccio without going any further, all the vertebrae of the diners creaked when they twisted their heads and continued with the view the couple. "They were beautiful as gods," he used to say.

Hill, born in Los Angeles in 1926, had a certain popular success in the 1950s in a television series, he walked through some notable films such as Eva in the nude or Brigade 21, in which he barely had a few lines of dialogue, until that the Italian-Spanish productions of the 60s in search of tough guys with good looks put him at the forefront of titles such as Bounty Hunter, I want him dead, The twilight of a gunman, Fifteen gallows for a murderer or Vultures will dig your grave. In 1974 he was one of Sara Montiel's fictional lovers in Five Pillows for One Night and in real life he also had an affair with a mature Marlene Dietrich.

Meeting his future wife, Teresa Gimpera, during the filming of a North American co-production on Lake Garda, Italy, in the mid-1960s, transformed her life from top to bottom. A short time later they were inseparable. The North American settled permanently in Catalonia and gradually, his activity as an actor began to expand to become a businessman -a restaurant in Begur and a modeling agency- next to Gimpera. The actress divorced her first husband, editor Octavi Sarsanedas, father of her three children, to marry the handsome American in 1990. Hill was last seen in the cinema in a small role in the Oscar film Aibar Flying dishes.
